Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm soapy water.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder and soak for 15 minutes.
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffee maker in water. Ensure hands are dry when plugging in.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffee maker; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button, use HOUR and MIN to set time.
  2. Prime filter: Run a full cycle of clean water without coffee grounds.
  3. Adjust brew strength: Use BREW STRENGTH button to select regular or bold.
  4. Set auto shut-off: Press AUTO OFF to choose 0-4 hour setting.

CAUTION! First few cycles may produce slight odor; this is normal.

Brewing Coffee

  4. Pause & serve: Press PAUSE during brew to pour cup.

  6. Keep warm: Coffee stays warm on plate for up to 4 hours.

Tip: For best flavor, use fresh cold water and clean equipment regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Clean exterior with damp cloth.

  1. Daily: Empty grounds, rinse filter and carafe.
  2. Weekly: Clean with vinegar solution using CLEAN function.
  3. Monthly: Replace charcoal water filter (every 60 cycles).
  4. As needed: Descale with commercial descaler if in hard water area.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse base in water.

Programming & Timer

Set coffee to brew automatically at specific time.

  1. Ensure clock is set correctly.
  2. Press PROGRAM, use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time.
  3. Add water and coffee grounds the night before.
  4. Coffee maker will brew at set time.
  5. To cancel: Press PROGRAM twice.
