Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Setup

Prime the water filter and set the clock before first use.

  1. Prime filter: Soak charcoal filter in water for 15 minutes, then run a full cycle of clean water through the coffeemaker (without coffee).
  2. Set clock: Press and hold HOUR and MIN buttons to set current time on the LCD display.
  3. Test brew: Add water to reservoir, place filter basket, add ground coffee, and press ON/OFF to start a brew cycle.
  4. Adjust auto shut-off: Use the AUTO OFF button to set shut-off time (0 to 4 hours after brewing).

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Always ensure carafe is in place before brewing.

  1. Manual brew: Add water and coffee, press ON/OFF to start immediately.
  2. Programmed brew: Press PROGRAM, set brew time with HOUR/MIN, press PROGRAM again. The "PROGRAM" icon will light.
  3. 1-4 cup brew: Press 1-4 CUP before starting brew for small batches.
  4. Brew Pause: During brewing, lift carafe to pause; replace to continue.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Brewing stops automatically; warming plate turns off after set time.
