Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, stable surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter, and unit.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse unit, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir with clean water to MAX line (12 cups).
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER to turn unit on.
  4. Press CLEAN button; unit will run water through system (no coffee).
  5. Discard water from carafe after cycle completes.
  6. Your coffeemaker is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated to avoid spills and burns.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: POWER, PROGRAM, HOUR, MIN, BREW STRENGTH, AUTO OFF, CLEAN.

Buttons: POWER turns unit on/off. PROGRAM sets brew time. HOUR/MIN adjust time. BREW STRENGTH toggles Regular/Bold. AUTO OFF sets shut-off delay (0-4 hrs). CLEAN initiates cleaning cycle.

Display: Shows clock time, program time, brew strength icon, auto-off setting, and cleaning indicator light.

Brewing Coffee

For manual brewing (immediate start).

  1. Ensure unit is plugged in and carafe is empty and in place.
  2. Fill water reservoir with desired amount of water (1-12 cups).
  3. Place permanent filter in filter basket. Add medium-coarse ground coffee (1 tbsp per cup).
  4. Press POWER to turn unit on.
  5. Select brew strength (Regular or Bold) if desired.
  6. Press BREW NOW (or equivalent); brewing begins immediately.
  7. When brewing finishes, audible signal sounds. Coffee is kept warm on plate.
  8. To stop warming, press POWER to turn unit off.

Tip: Use fresh, cold water and clean equipment for best flavor.

Programming & Timer

To set clock and program brew time.

  1. With unit on, press and hold HOUR and MIN to set current time.
  2. Press PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time (e.g., 7:00 AM).
  3. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. "PROG" icon appears on display.
  4. Add water and coffee grounds as described in Brewing section before programmed time.
  5. Unit will automatically brew at set time. To cancel program, press PROGRAM until "PROG" icon disappears.
  6. Use AUTO OFF to set how long unit stays on after brewing (0, 1, 2, or 4 hours).

Note: Power interruption resets clock; reprogram after outage.

Care & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly (or when CLEAN light illuminates): Run self-cleaning cycle.
    • Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water (up to 8 cups).
    • Place empty carafe on warming plate.
    • Press CLEAN; unit will run solution through system.
    • After cycle, discard vinegar solution, rinse carafe.
    • Run two cycles with clean water only to rinse.
  3. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 brew cycles or every two months.

CAUTION! Unplug and cool completely before cleaning exterior with damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.
