Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

1. Insert charcoal filter: Soak filter in water for 15 minutes, place in filter holder.
2. Install permanent filter: Place gold-tone filter in filter basket.
3. Fill water reservoir: Lift lid, pour water up to desired cup level (max 12 cups).
4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling plug.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle to remove manufacturing residues.

1. Set clock: Press CLOCK, use HOUR/MINUTE to set current time.
2. Clean machine: Fill reservoir with equal parts water and white vinegar, press CLEAN.
3. Rinse: After cleaning cycle, run two cycles with fresh water only.
4. Brew first pot: Add coffee grounds to filter, fill reservoir, press BREW.

CAUTION! Use only cold water in reservoir. Do not use without water.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty carafe and filter basket. Weekly: Clean exterior with damp cloth.

1. Self-clean cycle: Run monthly or when mineral deposits appear.
2. Descaling: Use equal parts white vinegar and water, press CLEAN.
3. Filter replacement: Replace charcoal filter every 60 brewing cycles.
4. Carafe cleaning: Wash with warm soapy water; do not use abrasive cleaners.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base in water.

Care Instructions

Use only cold water in reservoir. Do not use cracked carafe. Store in dry place.
