Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Place on clean, level, heat-resistant surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash removable parts: reservoir, drip tray, and K-Cup® holder with warm soapy water.
  3. Insert water reservoir into back of unit until it clicks into place.
  4. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Keep away from edges to prevent tipping. Ensure power cord is not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Use

Prime the machine before first brew to remove any manufacturing residues.

  1. Fill reservoir with fresh cold water to MAX line.
  2. Place a large mug (at least 12 oz) on drip tray.
  3. Press POWER to turn on; machine will beep and display "ADD WATER" if empty.
  4. Without inserting a pod, press START to run water through the system. Discard this water.
  5. Repeat priming cycle once more.
  6. Machine is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! Do not use without water in reservoir. First few brews may have slight odor—this is normal.

Control Panel: POWER, START, BREW SIZE, STRENGTH, AUTO OFF.

LCD Icons: Power, Brew Size, Strength, Auto-Off, Descaling Alert, Add Water.

Brew Size: Press BREW SIZE to cycle through 6, 8, 10, 12 oz. Strength: Press STRENGTH to toggle between Regular and Strong. Auto-Off: Press AUTO OFF to set delay (0, 30, 60, 90 minutes). Default settings: 8 oz brew, Regular strength, 90-minute auto-off.

Brewing Methods

Two brewing options: K-Cup® pods or ground coffee.

  1. Using K-Cup® Pods:
    • Lift brew handle and insert K-Cup® pod.
    • Close handle firmly until it clicks.
    • Place cup on drip tray.
    • Select brew size and strength.
    • Press START to begin brewing.
  2. Using Ground Coffee:
    • Remove K-Cup® holder and insert reusable filter.
    • Add 1 tablespoon ground coffee per 6 oz water.
    • Reassemble holder and close brew handle.
    • Select settings and press START.

Tip: For best results, use fresh cold water and clean machine regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Weekly: Clean removable parts.

  1. Unplug machine and let cool completely.
  2. Remove and wash reservoir, drip tray, and K-Cup® holder in warm soapy water.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reassembling.
  4. Wipe brew needle with damp cloth to remove coffee residue.
  5. Run clean water cycle monthly: fill reservoir, place mug, press START without pod.

CAUTION! Do not immerse base in water. Never use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling Procedure

Descale every 3-6 months or when DESCALE alert appears.

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water.
  2. Place large container (at least 24 oz) on drip tray.
  3. Press POWER, then press and hold START for 5 seconds to enter descale mode.
  4. Machine will run vinegar solution through system (approx. 20 minutes).
  5. Discard solution, rinse reservoir thoroughly.
  6. Refill with clean water and run 2-3 water-only cycles to rinse.
  7. Descale alert will reset automatically.

WARNING! Use only vinegar or Cuisinart descaling solution. Never use harsh chemicals.
