Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into the holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Fill water reservoir and place it back into the unit.
  5. Plug into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the unit, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a brewing cycle with water only to clean the system.

  1. Ensure the grinder is empty and the filter basket is in place.
  2. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water up to the 12-cup mark.
  3. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  4. Press the BREW button to start the cleaning cycle (no coffee grounds).
  5. Discard the water after the cycle is complete.
  6. Set the clock by pressing the CLOCK button and using HOUR/MIN.
  7. Program the auto-brew time if desired using the PROGRAM button.

CAUTION! The carafe and brewed coffee will be hot. Handle with care.

Brewing Coffee

For freshly ground coffee or pre-ground coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole beans to the grinder hopper (for grind & brew) OR place pre-ground coffee in the filter basket.
  3. Place empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Select brew strength (REGULAR/BOLD).
  5. Press BREW to start immediate brewing OR set auto-brew time using PROGRAM.
  6. Use PAUSE & SERVE feature to pour a cup during brewing.
  7. When brewing is complete, the unit will automatically shut off after the set time (0-4 hours).

Tip: For best flavor, use fresh, cold water and clean the unit regularly.

Grinder Operation

The built-in burr grinder provides consistent grind size.

  1. Adjust the GRIND CONTROL dial (1 for fine, 18 for coarse). Recommended setting: 8-12 for automatic drip.
  2. Add whole beans to the hopper. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  3. The grinder will automatically operate during the brew cycle when set to grind & brew mode.
  4. To use pre-ground coffee, bypass the grinder by placing grounds directly in the filter basket.

WARNING! Never operate the grinder without beans. Keep fingers and utensils away from the grinder.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and cool before cleaning.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water.
  2. Weekly: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Clean the grinder by brushing out any residual grounds.
  3. Monthly: Descale the unit with a vinegar solution (run a cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar, then run two cycles with clean water).
  4. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or as needed.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the base in water.
