Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and coffeemaker.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Fill water reservoir with clean, cold water to maximum line (12 cups) and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean interior.
  5. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning. Keep away from water sources to prevent electric shock.

First-Time Setup

Set clock and prepare for first use.

  1. Plug in coffeemaker. LCD will flash 12:00.
  2. Press and hold HOUR and MIN buttons to set current time.
  3. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (using measuring lines).
  4. Insert permanent filter into filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 scoop per cup).
  5. Place empty carafe on warming plate. Close lid.
  6. Press BREW to start manual brewing cycle.

CAUTION! Do not operate without water in reservoir. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.

Programming & Operation

For automatic brewing at set time.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold HOUR and MIN to set current time.
  2. Set Program Time: Press PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time.
  3. Prepare Coffeemaker: Add water and coffee the night before.
  4. Auto Brew: Coffeemaker will start at programmed time.
  5. Manual Brew: Press BREW to start immediately.

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during brewing except during brew pause feature.
