Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, stable, heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet.

  1. Install charcoal water filter: Rinse filter, insert into holder in water reservoir.
  2. Fill water reservoir: Remove reservoir, fill with cold water, replace.
  3. Insert filters: Place permanent gold-tone filter in 12-cup basket; reusable pod in single-serve holder if using ground coffee.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure unit is on a dry, level surface away from edges. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a cleaning cycle.

  1. Prime the system: Fill reservoir, place empty carafe, press BREW on 12-cup side; discard water.
  2. Clean milk frother: Fill frothing pitcher with water, press FROTHER button; discard water.
  3. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK, use HOUR/MIN to set time.
  4. Program auto-brew: Press PROG, set desired brew time.

CAUTION! Do not operate without water. Ensure all parts are properly seated.

12-Cup Mode: Use STRENGTH for bold/regular; PROG to set auto-brew time; CLOCK to set time. Single-Serve Mode: Place cup, insert pod, press POWER then BREW. Hot Water: Press HOT WATER button after unit is powered. Frother: Press FROTHER to activate; light indicates ready.

Brewing Coffee

For 12-cup or single-serve brewing.

  1. 12-Cup: Fill reservoir, add coffee to filter, place carafe, press POWER then BREW.
  2. Single-Serve with Pod: Place cup, insert K-Cup® pod, close holder, press POWER then BREW.
  3. Single-Serve with Grounds: Fill reusable pod, insert, close holder, press POWER then BREW.
  4. Hot Water: Ensure reservoir has water, place cup, press HOT WATER.

Tip: Use fresh, cold water and medium grind coffee for best results.

Using the Milk Frother

Froths milk for cappuccinos, lattes.

  1. Fill frothing pitcher with milk (max line).
  2. Insert pitcher into frother station.
  3. Press FROTHER; blue light will illuminate.
  4. Frothing stops automatically; remove pitcher.
  5. Pour frothed milk into beverage.

WARNING! Do not overfill pitcher. Use whole or 2% milk for best frothing. Clean frother after each use.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug and cool before cleaning. Wash carafe, filters, frother pitcher in warm, soapy water; rinse.

Descale: Every 3 months or as needed. Use vinegar solution: fill reservoir with half water, half white vinegar, run brew cycle without coffee. Rinse with two cycles of clean water.

CAUTION! Do not immerse base in water. Wipe exterior with damp cloth.
