Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, stable surface.

  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into holder in reservoir; soak filter for 15 minutes.
  4. Fill reservoir with water and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean interior.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse machine in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling plug.

First-Time Setup

Power on machine; follow control panel prompts.

  1. Set clock: Press CLOCK button, use HOUR/MINUTE to set time.
  2. Program timer: Press PROGRAM, set desired brew time.
  3. Adjust grind setting: Turn grind selector (Fine to Coarse).
  4. Set brew strength: Press STRENGTH for Regular or Bold.
  5. Insert filter: Place paper or permanent filter in basket.

Brewing Coffee

  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press POWER to turn on.

  7. Press BREW to start; use BREW PAUSE to pour cup early.
  8. Auto shut-off turns machine off after brewing.

Tip: Use fresh, cold water and quality beans for best flavor.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily: Empty grounds basket and rinse carafe. Weekly: Wash removable parts. Monthly: Clean grinder and descale.

  1. Unplug machine and let cool.
  2. Remove and wash carafe, lid, filter basket in warm, soapy water.
  3. Wipe exterior with damp cloth; dry thoroughly.
  4. Clean grinder: Run small amount of uncooked rice through grinder to remove oils.
  5. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 days or as indicated.

CAUTION! Never immerse machine base in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling

Descale every 3-6 months to remove mineral deposits.

  1. Mix descaling solution or white vinegar with equal parts water.
  2. Fill reservoir with solution.
  3. Place empty carafe on plate.
  4. Press CLEAN button (if available) or run brew cycle without coffee.
  5. Let solution sit in machine for 30 minutes.
  6. Run two cycles with fresh water to rinse.
