Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, dry, level, and heat-resistant surface away from edges.

  1. Insert Charcoal Filter: Soak filter in water for 15 minutes, then place into the water reservoir.
  2. Attach Permanent Filter: Place the gold-tone permanent filter into the filter basket.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure carafe is centered on the warming plate.
  4. Plug into AC power (120V, 60Hz). The LCD will illuminate.

WARNING! Keep cord away from hot surfaces. Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, clean the coffeemaker by running a cycle with water only (no coffee).

  1. Fill water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with fresh, cold water.
  2. Place an empty filter in the basket and ensure the carafe is in place.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard the water from the carafe after the cycle completes. The unit is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! The warming plate, carafe, and brewed coffee will be hot. Handle with care.

Programming Instructions

  2. Press and hold PROGRAM. The "AUTO ON" icon will blink.
  3. While holding PROGRAM, press HOUR/MIN to set the desired brew time.
  4. Release PROGRAM. The "AUTO ON" icon will stay lit, confirming the program is set.
  5. Fill the reservoir with water and add coffee to the filter basket. The unit will now brew at the set time.

Tip: To cancel a programmed time, press and hold PROGRAM until the "AUTO ON" icon turns off.

Brewing Coffee

For manual brewing (immediate start):

  1. Fill the water reservoir with cold water to desired cup level (1-12).
  2. Place a paper filter or use the permanent filter in the basket.
  3. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup, adjust to taste).
  4. Ensure the carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
  5. Press the ON/OFF button. The "BREW" light will illuminate, and brewing begins.
  6. Use the PAUSE & SERVE feature anytime during brewing to pour a cup.
  7. When brewing is complete, an audible signal will sound. The AUTO OFF countdown begins.

WARNING! Never operate without water in the reservoir or without the carafe in place.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and filter basket. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth.

Weekly/Descaling: Run a cleaning cycle every 40-80 brew cycles or when mineral deposits are visible.

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water to the 12-cup line.
  2. Place an empty filter in the basket and ensure the carafe is in place.
  3. Press the CLEAN button. The cycle will run for approximately 30 minutes.
  4. After cycle, discard vinegar solution. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh water only to rinse.

CAUTION! Unplug and allow to cool completely before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners.
