Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Insert Charcoal Water Filter: Soak filter in water for 15 minutes, then place in filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Prepare Carafe: Remove all packaging materials. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water.
  3. Prime the Filter: Run a full cycle of clean water through the coffeemaker without coffee.
  4. Plug into a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling plug.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, complete a cleaning cycle.

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX line with clean, cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard water from carafe after cycle completes.
  5. Your coffeemaker is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! Use only cold water. Do not use distilled or mineral water.

Programming & Operation

For manual brew or programmed start.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons simultaneously, then adjust.
  2. Manual Brew: Add water and coffee, press ON/OFF to start immediately.
  3. Programmed Brew: Set desired brew time using PROGRAM, HOUR, MINUTE. Add water and coffee. The unit will brew at the set time.
  4. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE during brew to pour a cup, then release to continue brewing.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO SHUT-OFF to select duration (0-4 hrs).

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (5 oz) as a starting point.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly Descaling: Run a cycle with a descaling solution or white vinegar/water mix (followed by several clear water cycles).
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses for best water filtration.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

WARNING! Never immerse the base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.

Care Instructions

Unplug before cleaning. Use only non-abrasive cleaners on the housing.

CAUTION! Do not use the carafe on a stovetop or in a microwave. The thermal carafe is not designed for heating.
