Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the carafe is properly seated before brewing.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform a cleaning cycle without coffee.

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with fresh, cold water.
  2. Place a paper filter or the permanent filter in the filter basket.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the POWER button to turn the unit on, then press BREW. Allow the full cycle to run.
  5. Discard the water. The unit is now ready for programming and brewing.

CAUTION! The thermal carafe is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket after each use. Do not use abrasive pads.
  2. Decalcification: Perform every 2-3 months or when mineral deposits slow brewing.
    • Fill reservoir with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water to the 12-cup line.
    • Place a paper filter in the basket and place the empty carafe on the plate.
    • Press BREW and allow half the mixture to brew, then turn off and let sit for 30 minutes.
    • Complete the brewing cycle. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh water to rinse.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 brew cycles or every 2 months.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.

CAUTION! Unplug the unit and allow to cool completely before cleaning. Never use harsh chemicals.

Programming & Operation

Supports manual brew and 24-hour advance programming.

  1. Manual Brew: Add water and coffee grounds. Press POWER, then press BREW.
  2. Pause & Serve: Lift the carafe during brewing to pause; replace to continue.
  3. Set Programmed Brew Time:
    • Set the current time first (hold HOUR/MIN).
    • Press PROGRAM. The PROGRAM light will blink.
    • Use HOUR and MIN to set the desired future brew time.
    • Press PROGRAM again to confirm. The AUTO ON light will illuminate.
    • Add water and coffee grounds. The unit will brew at the set time.
  4. Cancel a Program: Press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds until the AUTO ON light turns off.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to select the desired keep-warm duration (0-4 hrs).

WARNING! Do not place the carafe on the warming plate without the lid securely in place. The thermal carafe does not require the warming plate to be on.
