Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder (soak filter for 15 minutes first).
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the power cord is not dangling over the edge of a counter.

First-Time Setup

Power on the coffee maker; the LCD display will light up.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the current time.
  2. Prime the filter: Run a full cycle of clean water (without coffee) through the machine to activate the charcoal filter.
  3. Select brew strength: Use the BREW STRENGTH button to choose Regular or Bold.
  4. Set auto shut-off: Use the AUTO OFF button to select the desired shut-off time (0-4 hours).

CAUTION! Before first use, complete a water-only brewing cycle to remove any manufacturing residues.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee flavor.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Descale the machine using a vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Run through a brewing cycle, then run 2 cycles of clean water to rinse.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 uses or every 2 months (whichever comes first).
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Tip: Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

Brewing Coffee

For manual brewing (not using the timer).

  1. Fill the water reservoir with cold, filtered water to the desired cup level.
  2. Place the permanent filter in the filter basket. Add medium-grind coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the BREW/PAUSE button to start brewing.
  5. To pour a cup during brewing, press BREW/PAUSE again (pause feature). Brewing resumes automatically after 30 seconds.
  6. When brewing is complete, the AUTO OFF countdown begins.

WARNING! Never remove the carafe while brewing is in progress unless using the pause feature. Hot liquid may spill.

Programming

To set the coffee maker to brew automatically at a specific time.

  1. Ensure the clock is set to the correct time.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button. The PROGRAM ON light will blink.
  3. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. The PROGRAM ON light will stay lit.
  5. Prepare the coffee maker with water and coffee grounds as described in section 8.
  6. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.
  7. To cancel a program, press and hold the PROGRAM button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.

Care & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool completely before storage. Store in a dry place.

CAUTION! Do not wrap the cord tightly around the base while the unit is still warm. Never store with water in the reservoir.
