Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe and filter basket.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and charcoal filter with warm soapy water.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Fill water reservoir completely and run through one brewing cycle without coffee to clean.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base unit in water. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; set time and preferences.

  1. Set time: Press and hold CLOCK button, use HOUR/MINUTE buttons to set time.
  2. Program auto-brew: Press PROGRAM button, set desired brew time using HOUR/MINUTE.
  3. Set brew strength: Press STRENGTH button for REGULAR or BOLD.
  4. Set auto shut-off: Press AUTO OFF to select 0-4 hours (0=off, 4=4 hours).

Brewing Coffee

Tip: For best results, use fresh cold water and replace charcoal filter every 2 months.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe, filter basket. Weekly: Wash removable parts with warm soapy water. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution.

  1. Descaling: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, run through brewing cycle.
  2. Rinse: Run 2-3 cycles of clean water to remove vinegar taste.
  3. Filter replacement: Replace charcoal filter every 2 months or 60 brew cycles.
  4. Exterior cleaning: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base unit in water.
