Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Install charcoal water filter: Soak filter in cold water for 15 minutes, then insert into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Fill water reservoir with clean, cold water to the desired level (up to 14 cups).
  5. Plug power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when handling the plug.

First-Time Use

Before brewing your first pot of coffee, perform a cleaning cycle to remove any manufacturing residues.

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the 14-cup mark with clean, cold water. Do not add coffee.
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the CLEAN button. The CLEAN light will illuminate.
  4. Press the BREW button to start the cleaning cycle. The unit will run water through the system.
  5. When the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe. The unit is now ready for use.

CAUTION! The carafe lid and brewed coffee will be hot. Use handles and avoid steam.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel Features: POWER button, BREW button, PROGRAM button, HOUR and MIN buttons, CLEAN button, AUTO OFF button (for shutoff timer).

LCD Display: Shows time, PROGRAM indicator, AUTO OFF setting, and CLEAN indicator.

Setting the Clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons simultaneously until the display flashes. Use HOUR and MIN buttons to set the correct time. Press POWER to save.

Auto Shutoff Timer: Press AUTO OFF repeatedly to cycle through shutoff delay options (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 hours). The selected time will display.

Programming Instructions

To program the coffee maker to brew automatically at a set time:

  1. Ensure the clock is set to the correct current time.
  2. Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount of cold water.
  3. Place the permanent filter in the filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Press the PROGRAM button. The PROGRAM light will illuminate and the display will show the current programmed time (default is 12:00).
  6. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired brew time.
  7. Press the POWER button to save the program. The PROGRAM light will stay on.
  8. The coffee maker will now automatically begin brewing at the set time. To cancel a program, press and hold the PROGRAM button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.

Brewing Coffee

For manual (immediate) brewing:

  1. Fill the water reservoir with cold water to the desired cup level.
  2. Place the permanent filter in the filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup, or to taste).
  3. Place the carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the POWER button to turn the unit on.
  5. Press the BREW button to start the brewing cycle. The BREW light will illuminate.
  6. To use the Brew Pause feature, simply remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds to resume brewing.
  7. When brewing is complete, the unit will beep and the AUTO OFF countdown will begin (if set).

Tip: For best results, use fresh, cold water and grind coffee beans just before brewing.

Care & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee flavor.

Daily: Discard used grounds and rinse the permanent filter and carafe with warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Weekly/Monthly Cleaning Cycle:

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the 14-cup mark with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water.
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the CLEAN button, then press BREW to start the cycle.
  4. After the cycle completes, discard the vinegar solution. Run two cycles with clean, cold water only to rinse the system thoroughly.

Charcoal Filter Replacement: Replace the water filter every 60 brew cycles or every 2 months for optimal performance.

CAUTION! Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Never immerse the base in water.
