Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure unit is unplugged during cleaning. Keep away from water sources.

First-Time Setup

Plug in unit; digital display will light up.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button, use HOUR/MIN buttons to set time.
  2. Prime filter: Run a brew cycle with water only (no coffee) to activate charcoal filter.
  3. Adjust settings: Use BREW STRENGTH button to select regular or bold.
  4. Test auto shut-off: Set to 0 hours for immediate shut-off after brewing.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (1-14).
  2. Place charcoal filter in holder (if using).
  3. Insert paper filter or permanent filter into brew basket.
  4. Add coffee grounds (1 tbsp per cup, adjust to taste).
  5. Place empty carafe on warming base.
  6. Press POWER to start brewing.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during cycle.
  8. When brewing complete, unit will beep and auto shut-off will activate.

Tip: For full flavor, use filtered water and clean unit regularly.

Programming

Set unit to brew automatically at a specific time.

  1. Ensure clock is set correctly.
  2. Press PROGRAM button; "PROG" will flash.
  3. Use HOUR and MIN buttons to set desired brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  5. Load water, filter, and coffee grounds as usual.
  6. Unit will automatically brew at set time.
  7. To cancel program, press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.

Note: Programmed time must be at least 5 minutes from current time.

Cleaning & Maintenance
