Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe and filter basket.
  2. Wash carafe and filter basket with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when plugging in.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffeemaker; set clock time.

  1. Fill water reservoir with fresh cold water to MAX line.
  2. Press and hold PROGRAM button; use HOUR and MIN buttons to set current time.
  3. Insert charcoal filter into filter basket (soaked first).
  4. Place paper filter in basket, add ground coffee.
  5. Press BREW to start first brew cycle.

CAUTION! Do not use without water in reservoir. Ensure carafe is properly positioned.

Brewing Coffee

Use fresh cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (5 oz per cup).
  2. Insert filter (paper or permanent) into basket.
  3. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press BREW to start brewing.
  6. Use BREW PAUSE to pour cup during cycle.
  7. When brewing completes, warming plate keeps coffee hot.

Tip: For best taste, use charcoal water filter and clean regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty carafe and rinse. Weekly: Clean carafe and filter basket with soapy water.

  1. Self-Cleaning: Fill reservoir with equal parts water and white vinegar.
  2. Press CLEAN button; cleaning cycle runs (approx. 30 minutes).
  3. Rinse by running 2-3 cycles of fresh water only.
  4. Replace charcoal filter every 60 brew cycles.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning exterior. Never immerse in water.

Programming Guide

Set brew time up to 24 hours in advance.

  1. Set current time (hold PROGRAM, adjust HOUR/MIN).
  2. Press PROGRAM once; display shows "PROG".
  3. Use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew start time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  5. Add water, filter, and coffee.
  6. Coffeemaker will automatically brew at set time.

To cancel program: Press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.
