Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, dry, level, and heat-resistant surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the unit and carafe.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC, 60Hz electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the base unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid. Ensure the carafe is properly seated on the warming plate before brewing.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform a cleaning cycle with water only (no coffee).

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with fresh, cold water.
  2. Place an empty filter in the filter basket and ensure the carafe is in place.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the cleaning cycle. Let the full cycle complete.
  4. To set the clock: Press and hold the PROGRAM button, then use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the correct time. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.

CAUTION! The warming plate and carafe will become hot during operation. Handle with care using the handle.

Programming Brew Time: With clock set, press and hold AUTO ON. Use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time. Release AUTO ON. The "AUTO ON" light will illuminate. The coffeemaker will brew at the set time.

Brewing Coffee

For optimal coffee flavor, use fresh, cold water and grind coffee beans just before brewing.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with desired amount of cold water.
  2. Place a paper filter or permanent filter in the filter basket.
  3. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup, adjust to taste).
  4. Ensure the carafe is properly seated on the warming plate.
  5. Press the ON/OFF button to start brewing immediately.
  6. For 1-4 cups, press the 1-4 CUP button before starting for richer flavor.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE feature to pour a cup before cycle ends.
  8. After brewing, the auto shut-off will turn the unit off after the set delay (default 0 hours).

Tip: For programmed brewing, set the AUTO ON time the night before. Always use the charcoal filter for better tasting coffee.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

Daily: Discard used grounds and filter. Wash carafe and lid with warm, soapy water. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth.

Descaling (When CLEAN light is on):

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water to the 12-cup line.
  2. Place an empty filter in the basket and ensure carafe is in place.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start a brew cycle halfway, then turn off and let solution sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Complete the brew cycle. Discard vinegar solution.
  5. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh water only to rinse.

Charcoal Filter Replacement: Replace every 60 brew cycles or 2 months. Soak new filter 15 minutes, then insert into holder.

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Unplug before cleaning. Do not immerse base in water.
