Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not use without water. Ensure all parts are properly assembled before first use.

First-Time Setup

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir to 12-cup line with fresh, cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press the ON/OFF switch to begin brewing cycle.
  4. Discard the hot water after cycle completes.
  5. Repeat process once more to ensure any manufacturing residues are removed.

CAUTION! The warming plate and carafe will be hot. Use handles and avoid contact with hot surfaces.

Brewing Coffee

For optimal flavor, use fresh, cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (1-12).
  2. Place permanent filter in filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate. Ensure lid is closed.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start immediate brewing, or set PROGRAM for delayed brew.
  5. Pause & Serve: To pour a cup during brewing, remove carafe. Brewing pauses for up to 30 seconds.
  6. When brewing completes, READY light illuminates and alert tone sounds.

Tip: For 1-4 cups, ensure the 1-4 CUP setting is activated for proper saturation.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures best performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly: Descale unit to remove mineral deposits. Use a descaling solution or white vinegar.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses for optimal water filtration.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.

WARNING! Always unplug and allow to cool completely before cleaning.

Care Instructions

Unplug before cleaning. Use only non-abrasive cleaners. Do not use harsh chemicals.

CAUTION! Do not place in dishwasher (except for carafe and lid if dishwasher-safe). Avoid getting water in control panel.
