Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Install Charcoal Filter: Rinse filter, insert into filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Insert Permanent Filter: Place gold-tone filter into filter basket.
  3. Add Water: Fill reservoir with cold water up to 12-cup mark.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure coffeemaker is unplugged during setup. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle to remove any manufacturing residues.

  1. Fill water reservoir to 12-cup mark with cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press and hold PROGRAM and HOUR buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to start cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard water after cycle completes. Repeat if desired.
  5. Your coffeemaker is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! Do not add coffee grounds during cleaning cycle. Carafe must be in place.

Programming & Operation

To brew coffee immediately: Add water, insert filter, add grounds, place carafe, press POWER.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE to set current time.
  2. Program Auto Brew: Press PROGRAM, then HOUR/MINUTE to set brew time. Press AUTO ON to activate.
  3. Adjust Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF repeatedly to select 0, 1, 2, or 4 hours.
  4. Brew Pause: Lift carafe during brewing to pause; replace to continue.
  5. To Stop Brewing: Press POWER button.

Tip: Use 1 level scoop of grounds per cup. For stronger coffee, use more grounds, not less water.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly Descaling: Run a cleaning cycle with equal parts white vinegar and water. Follow with 2 cycles of clean water.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 cycles or 2 months for best results.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not immerse in water.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Care Instructions

Always use cold water in reservoir. Ensure carafe is properly seated on warming plate. Do not operate without water or filter in place.

CAUTION! Carafe is dishwasher safe (top rack only). Do not place any parts in microwave.
