Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, stable surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from coffeemaker and carafe.
  2. Wash carafe and brew basket with warm, soapy water; rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Plug power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning. Keep away from water sources to avoid electric shock.

First-Time Setup

Plug in coffeemaker; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold CLOCK, then use HOUR and MIN to set time.
  2. Prime the filter: Run a brew cycle with water only (no coffee) to activate charcoal filter.
  3. Set brew strength: Press BREW STRENGTH to select Regular or Bold (default is Regular).
  4. Test brew: Add coffee grounds and water, press BREW to start a test cycle.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly placed on warming plate.

Brewing Coffee

  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press BREW to start brewing immediately.
  6. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing.
  7. When brewing completes, ready alert will sound.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup for regular strength; adjust to taste.

Programming & Timer

Set coffeemaker to brew automatically at a specific time.

  1. Ensure clock is set correctly.
  2. Press PROGRAM; display shows "PROG".
  3. Use HOUR and MIN to set desired brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  5. Add water and coffee grounds before programmed time.
  6. Coffeemaker will start brewing at set time.

Note: Auto shut-off will activate after brewing completes (based on AUTO OFF setting).

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe and brew basket with warm, soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Run self-clean cycle (press and hold BREW for 3 seconds).
  3. Filter: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles or 2 months.
