Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Insert charcoal filter: Rinse filter, place in filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Install permanent filter: Place gold-tone filter in brew basket.
  3. Attach carafe: Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Keep away from water sources. Ensure cord is not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, clean coffeemaker by running a cycle with water only.

  1. Fill reservoir: Add clean water up to 14-cup mark.
  2. Start cleaning: Press ON/OFF to begin brew cycle without coffee.
  3. Set time: Press HOUR and MINUTE to set current time.
  4. Program if desired: Set AUTO ON time for future brewing.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

  3. Brew: Press ON/OFF to start immediate brewing.
  4. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE during brew to pour a cup.
  5. Auto Brew: Set PROGRAM time for future brewing.
  6. Bold Brew: Press BREW STRENGTH for stronger flavor.

Tip: Use fresh, cold water and medium grind coffee for best results.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Wash carafe and filter with warm, soapy water.

  1. Daily: Empty grounds, rinse carafe and filter.
  2. Monthly: Run self-clean cycle (press CLEAN button).
  3. Filter: Replace charcoal filter every 60 cycles or 3 months.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not immerse.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse base in water.

Programming

Set clock and program auto-brew time.

  1. Set Clock: Press CLOCK, then HOUR and MINUTE to set time.
  2. Program Auto-Brew: Press PROGRAM, then HOUR and MINUTE to set brew time.
  3. Confirm: PROGRAM light will illuminate when set.
  4. Cancel: Press PROGRAM again to cancel.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to set duration (0-4 hrs).

Note: Power interruption requires resetting clock and program.
