Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level, and heat-resistant surface away from edges.

  1. Insert Charcoal Filter: Rinse filter, place in filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Attach Permanent Filter: Place the gold-tone permanent filter into the filter basket.
  3. Position Carafe: Place empty carafe on the warming plate, ensuring it is centered.
  4. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the coffeemaker is unplugged and cool before handling. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.

First-Time Setup

Plug in the coffeemaker; the LCD will display 12:00 and the cleaning indicator may flash.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Prime the Filter: Run a cycle with only water (no coffee) to activate charcoal filter.
  3. Program Auto On: Press PROGRAM, then HOUR/MINUTE to set desired brew time, then AUTO ON.
  4. Adjust Auto Shut-Off: Press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds, then press HOUR to select 0-4 hours.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Always use the provided carafe.

Brewing Coffee

Supports regular and small-batch brewing.

  1. Add Water: Fill reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  2. Add Coffee: Place ground coffee into permanent filter (1 tbsp per cup).
  3. Brew Immediately: Place carafe, press BREW.
  4. Brew Later: Set Auto On time as described in First-Time Setup.
  5. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE & SERVE during brewing to pour a cup.
  6. Auto Shut-Off: Coffeemaker will turn off after selected time (0-4 hrs).

WARNING! Never operate without carafe in place. Do not touch hot surfaces.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and cool before cleaning. Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.

Decalcification: When CLEAN indicator flashes, run a cycle with equal parts white vinegar and water, then run 2-3 cycles with clean water.

Filter Care: Rinse permanent filter after each use. Replace charcoal filter every 60 cycles or 2 months.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never wash carafe or filter basket in dishwasher.
