Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, permanent filter, and charcoal water filter holder with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder and soak it in cold water for 5 minutes. Rinse under cold water.
  4. Place the filter holder into the water reservoir.
  5. Fill the reservoir with cold water to the 14-cup line and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean the system. Discard this water.

WARNING! Ensure the coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning and setup. Handle glass carafe with care.

First-Time Use

After initial cleaning, the coffeemaker is ready for programming and brewing.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the current time.
  2. Program Brew Time: Use the PROGRAM button to set a future brew time.
  3. Select Brew Strength: Use the 1-4 CUP button if brewing a small batch.
  4. Set Auto Shut-Off: Press the AUTO OFF button to select duration (0-4 hours).

CAUTION! Do not use the coffeemaker without water. Always use the charcoal filter for best results.

Programming the Clock & Timer

To set the clock and program the brew start time.

  1. Set Clock: Plug in coffeemaker. Press and hold HOUR and MIN until display flashes. Use HOUR/MIN to set time. Press ON/OFF to confirm.
  2. Set Program Time: Press PROGRAM once. Display flashes. Use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time. Press ON/OFF to confirm. "PROG SET" icon appears.
  3. Cancel Program: Press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds until "PROG SET" icon disappears.
  4. Immediate Brew: Press ON/OFF to start brewing immediately.

Tip: Ensure the carafe is in place and water reservoir is filled before programming.

Brewing Coffee

For optimal coffee flavor using ground coffee or the permanent filter.

  1. Fill reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  2. Place permanent filter in filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 tbsp per cup).
  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate. Close lid.
  4. For programmed brew: Ensure program is set. For immediate brew: Press ON/OFF.
  5. Brew Pause: During brew cycle, you can briefly remove carafe to pour a cup. Replace within 30 seconds.
  6. When brewing ends, audible signal sounds. Auto shut-off begins countdown.

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during the first few seconds of brewing. Hot steam may be present.

Care & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures performance and longevity. Unplug and cool completely before cleaning.

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and filter basket. Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (mix equal parts white vinegar and water). Run brewing cycle halfway, then turn off and let sit 15 minutes. Complete cycle, then run 2 cycles with clean water to rinse. Filter: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 brew cycles or 2 months.

CAUTION! Never immerse coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
