Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside of coffeemaker.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and charcoal water filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform a cleaning cycle without coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX line with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty filter basket and empty carafe in position.
  3. Press ON/OFF button to turn on. Press CLEAN button and hold for 3 seconds to start cleaning cycle.
  4. Allow cycle to complete (approx. 30 minutes). Discard water from carafe.
  5. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button, then use HOUR and MIN buttons to set time.

CAUTION! Do not add coffee grounds during cleaning cycle. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (1-14).
  2. Insert filter (paper or permanent) into filter basket.
  3. Add coffee grounds: 1 tablespoon per cup (adjust to taste).
  4. Place carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press ON/OFF to start immediate brew, or set PROGRAM for delayed brew.
  6. During brew, press BREW PAUSE to pour a cup early.
  7. When cycle ends, audible signal sounds. Coffee stays warm on plate (adjustable).

Tip: For stronger coffee, use STRENGTH button or more grounds. Replace charcoal filter regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and cool completely before cleaning.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, filter basket, and lid in warm soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Do not immerse.
  3. Self-Clean: When CLEAN light illuminates, run cleaning cycle (without coffee).
  4. Descale: Monthly, run vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) through brew cycle, then run 2 cycles with clean water to rinse.
  5. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 cycles or 2 months.

CAUTION! Never clean with scouring pads or harsh chemicals. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembly.
