Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffeemaker; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Set the time: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Prime the system: Run a full cycle with water only (no coffee) to clean interior.
  3. Install filter: Place a paper filter or permanent filter in the filter basket.
  4. Set auto shut-off: Press AUTO OFF button to select desired shut-off time (0-4 hours).
  5. Set brew strength: Use BREW STRENGTH button to select Regular or Bold.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing to prevent spills.

  1. Self-cleaning: Fill reservoir with equal parts water and white vinegar. Press CLEAN button. After half cycle, turn off and let sit 15 minutes. Complete cycle with fresh water.
  2. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  3. Descaling: Use vinegar solution or commercial descaler monthly if in hard water area.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners or immerse base in water.

Programming Guide

To program automatic brewing:

  1. Press and hold PROGRAM button.
  2. While holding PROGRAM, press HOUR and MINUTE to set desired brew time.
  3. Release PROGRAM. "PROG" light will illuminate.
  4. Add water and coffee grounds the night before.
  5. Coffeemaker will automatically brew at set time.

To cancel program: Press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds until "PROG" light turns off.

Tip: Ensure power is not interrupted for programmed brew to occur.
