Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe lid and brew basket with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Fill water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle with only water to clean interior.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffee maker in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when handling plug.

First-Time Setup

Plug in coffee maker; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Set clock: Press CLOCK button, use HOUR and MIN buttons to set current time.
  2. Prime filter: Soak charcoal filter in water for 5 minutes, then insert into holder.
  3. Select brew strength: Use BREW STRENGTH button to choose Regular or Bold.
  4. Adjust keep-warm temperature: Press KEEP WARM button to select Low, Medium, or High.
  5. Test brew: Run a cycle with water only to ensure proper operation.

CAUTION! Use only cold water in reservoir. Do not use without water filter installed.

Brewing Coffee

Manual brewing process.

  1. Fill water reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  2. Place charcoal filter in holder (if not already installed).
  3. Insert paper filter into brew basket (or use permanent filter).
  4. Add ground coffee: 1 tablespoon per cup, or adjust to taste.
  5. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  6. Press POWER to start brewing cycle.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing (optional).
  8. When brewing completes, auto shut-off turns unit off.

Tip: For best results, use fresh, cold water and grind coffee beans just before brewing.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and brew basket with warm, soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  3. Filter: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. Self-clean: Press CLEAN button to run cleaning cycle when indicator lights.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse unit in water.

Programming

Set automatic brew time for convenience.

  1. Press PROGRAM button; "PROG" appears on display.
  2. Use HOUR and MIN buttons to set desired brew time.
  3. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  4. Ensure water reservoir is filled, coffee and filter are in place, and carafe is positioned.
  5. Unit will automatically brew at set time.
  6. To cancel program, press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.

Note: Clock must be set correctly for programming to work.

Safety Features

Auto Shut-Off: Turns off automatically after brewing. Brew Pause: Safely pour coffee during cycle. Overheat Protection: Prevents damage from overheating. Carafe Detection: Will not brew unless carafe is in place.
