Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from coffeemaker and carafe.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir with clean water to MAX line (10 cups).
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press and hold CLEAN button for 3 seconds to start cleaning cycle.
  4. Allow cycle to complete (approx. 30 minutes). Discard water.
  5. Set time: Press and hold CLOCK button, use HOUR/MIN to set current time.
  6. Program auto brew: Press PROG, set desired brew time using HOUR/MIN.

CAUTION! Do not add coffee grounds during cleaning cycle. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

For manual brewing or using programmed auto brew.

  1. Fill water reservoir with desired amount of water (MIN 4 cups to MAX 10 cups).
  2. Insert charcoal filter (if using) and permanent filter into filter basket.
  3. Add medium grind coffee: 1 tablespoon per cup (adjust to taste).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. For manual brew: Press POWER, then BREW NOW.
  6. For auto brew: Ensure PROG time is set, coffeemaker will start automatically.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing cycle.
  8. When brewing complete, audible signal sounds. Coffee stays hot in thermal carafe.

Tip: For best results, use fresh, cold water and clean coffeemaker regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee taste.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse.
  2. Weekly: Run self-cleaning cycle (press CLEAN) to remove mineral deposits.
  3. Monthly: Replace charcoal water filter (soak new filter 15 minutes before inserting).
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. Descaling: Use vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) if mineral buildup is visible.
