Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling plug.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir with fresh cold water to MAX line.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER button to turn unit on.
  4. Press BREW button to start cycle (no coffee grounds).
  5. Discard water after cycle completes.
  6. Repeat if desired to remove any manufacturing residues.

CAUTION! Do not use without water in reservoir. Heating element may be damaged.

Programming & Operation

For daily brewing or programmed start time.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold HOUR or MIN until correct time displays.
  2. Immediate Brew: Add water and grounds, press BREW.
  3. Programmed Brew: Set clock, press PROGRAM, set desired brew time using HOUR/MIN, press PROGRAM again to confirm. Add water and grounds. Unit will brew at set time.
  4. Brew Pause: During brew cycle, remove carafe to pour a cup (up to 20 seconds). Replace to continue brewing.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to select duration (0-4 hours). Unit turns off warming plate after selected time.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (adjust to taste).

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Run brew cycle, then run 2 cycles with clean water to rinse.
  3. Filter Replacement: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles or 3 months.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. Warming Plate: Clean with non-abrasive cleaner when cool.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base in water.
