Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffeemaker; set time and preferences.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Prime filter: Run a brew cycle with water only (no coffee) to activate charcoal filter.
  3. Adjust auto shut-off: Press AUTO OFF button to select 0, 2, or 4 hours.
  4. Select brew strength: Press BREW STRENGTH button for Regular or Bold.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated on base before brewing.

Brewing Coffee

Follow steps for optimal coffee brewing.

  1. Fill reservoir with cold water using carafe markings.
  2. Place filter (permanent or paper) in filter basket.
  3. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming base.
  5. Press POWER to start brewing.
  6. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing.
  7. When brewing complete, audible signal sounds.
  8. Press POWER to turn off or let auto shut-off activate.

Tip: Use fresh, cold water and medium grind coffee for best results.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Run self-clean cycle (press CLEAN button when light flashes).
  3. Filter: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles or 2 months.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. Descale: Use vinegar solution every 3-6 months if in hard water area.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base in water.

Programming

Set auto brew for automatic morning coffee.

  1. Press and hold PROGRAM button.
  2. Use HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set desired brew start time.
  3. Release PROGRAM button; "AUTO" light will illuminate.
  4. Ensure water and coffee are loaded before programmed time.
  5. To cancel auto brew, press PROGRAM until "AUTO" light turns off.

Note: Clock must be set correctly for auto brew to work.
