Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface near an electrical outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 5 minutes).
  4. Fill water reservoir with cold water to the desired level.
  5. Plug power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water. Handle carafe with care to avoid breakage.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffeemaker; set clock and preferences.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Prime the water filter: Run a cycle of plain water (without coffee) through the machine.
  3. Adjust grind setting: Turn grind selector to desired coarseness (medium recommended).
  4. Load beans: Fill bean hopper with whole coffee beans (do not exceed MAX line).
  5. Test brew: Brew a pot following standard brewing instructions.

CAUTION! Ensure machine is on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from edges.

Brewing Coffee

For fresh ground coffee or pre-ground coffee.

  1. Ensure water reservoir is filled to desired level.
  2. For whole beans: Fill bean hopper, set grind selector.
  3. For pre-ground: Place coffee in filter basket, press GRIND OFF.
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press BREW to start immediate brewing, or set PROGRAM for delayed brew.
  6. Brewing begins; grinder operates first (if enabled), then water heats and brews.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing.
  8. When complete, auto shut-off engages. Remove carafe.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (6 oz) as a starting point.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly: Descale machine by running a cycle with equal parts white vinegar and water, then run several cycles with clean water to rinse.
  3. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses, or as indicated.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. Grinder cleaning: Unplug, remove bean hopper, wipe with dry cloth. Do not wash burrs.

CAUTION! Always unplug before cleaning. Never immerse unit in water.

Programming

Set the machine to brew automatically at a later time.

  1. Set the current time using HOUR and MINUTE.
  2. Press PROGRAM; display shows "PROGRAM" and time.
  3. Use HOUR and MINUTE to set desired brew start time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  5. Ensure water and coffee beans are loaded, and machine is ON.
  6. At set time, machine will grind (if enabled) and brew automatically.
  7. To cancel program, press and hold PROGRAM until indicator disappears.

Note: Power interruption may require resetting the clock and program.
