Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Place on a clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Rinse carafe and filter basket with warm water.
  2. Install charcoal water filter: Soak filter in water for 15 minutes, then place in filter holder.
  3. Fill water reservoir with cold water to desired level (2-12 cups).
  4. Add coffee beans to grinder hopper (do not exceed MAX line).
  5. Plug into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: POWER, PROGRAM, CLOCK, STRENGTH (Regular/Bold), CUPS (2-12), GRIND (Coarse/Medium/Fine), BREW.

Programming: Set clock using CLOCK button. Use PROGRAM to set auto-brew time. STRENGTH selects coffee intensity. CUPS adjusts water volume. GRIND adjusts bean grind size.

Operation: Press POWER to turn on. Select settings, then press BREW to start. Auto shut-off activates 2 hours after brewing completes (unless programmed). Pause & Serve allows interruption during brew cycle.

Operation Guide

For freshly ground coffee:

  1. Ensure water reservoir is filled to desired level.
  2. Add whole beans to hopper (do not exceed MAX line).
  3. Select grind setting (Coarse, Medium, Fine).
  4. Select cup quantity (2-12).
  5. Select strength (Regular or Bold).
  6. Press BREW to start grinding and brewing.
  7. For programmed brewing: Set clock, then press PROGRAM to set brew time.
  8. Use Pause & Serve to pour coffee during brew cycle.

Tip: For best flavor, use fresh, cold water and clean beans. Adjust grind based on coffee type.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty grounds from filter basket, rinse carafe and basket. Weekly: Clean grinder with brush. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution.

  1. Unplug and cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wipe exterior with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  3. Clean filter basket and permanent filter with warm, soapy water.
  4. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  5. Descale: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, run brew cycle without coffee, then run 2 cycles with clean water.

CAUTION! Never immerse base in water. Do not use harsh chemicals.

Care Instructions

Store in a dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures. Handle carafe with care to avoid dents.

WARNING! Thermal carafe is not stove-top safe. Do not place on direct heat.
