Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe lid and filter basket with warm, soapy water; rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into holder in reservoir; soak filter for 15 minutes.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Fill reservoir with fresh water to MAX line (12 cups).
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press and hold CLEAN button for 3 seconds to start cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard water from carafe after cycle completes.
  5. Set clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to adjust.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing to prevent spills.

Programming & Operation

To brew coffee:

  1. Fill bean hopper with whole beans (do not exceed MAX line).
  2. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  3. Select grind size (coarse for less flavor, fine for stronger).
  4. Select brew strength (Regular or Bold).
  5. Press POWER to start grinding and brewing.
  6. For programmed brew: Set clock, press PROGRAM, set brew time with HOUR/MINUTE.

Tip: Use filtered water and fresh beans for best taste.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Empty grounds drawer; rinse carafe and filter basket.
  2. Weekly: Run cleaning cycle with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  3. Monthly: Clean bean hopper and grinder area with dry brush.
  4. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 days or as indicated.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base in water.

Care Instructions

Wipe exterior with damp cloth; dry immediately. Use only mild detergent.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Avoid harsh chemicals.
