Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and charcoal filter with warm soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into reservoir (soak filter 15 minutes first).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources and edges.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle.

  1. Fill water reservoir to 10-cup line with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty filter basket and carafe in position.
  3. Turn ON/OFF switch to ON; press CLEAN button (if equipped) or start brew cycle without coffee.
  4. Discard water after cycle completes.
  5. Repeat if necessary to remove any manufacturing residues.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing. Use only cold water.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: ON/OFF, PROGRAM, CLOCK, BREW STRENGTH, CUP SELECT, GRIND CONTROL, AUTO OFF.

LCD Display: Shows time, program status, "ADD COFFEE" or "ADD WATER" alerts.

Grind Settings: Turn dial from 1 (finest) to 18 (coarsest). Brew Strength: REGULAR or BOLD. Cup Select: 1 to 10 cups. Auto Off: Set 0, 2, or 4 hours after brew. Programming: Set clock and program start time.

Grinding & Brewing

For fresh ground coffee each time.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole bean coffee to grinder hopper (max ½ lb).
  3. Set grind coarseness (medium recommended).
  4. Place filter (paper or permanent) in basket.
  5. Select cup quantity and brew strength.
  6. Press ON/OFF to start grinding and brewing.
  7. Pause & Serve feature allows pouring during brew.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of whole beans per cup as starting point. Adjust to taste.

Programming

Set clock and program automatic brew start.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold CLOCK, use HOUR/MIN to set time, release.
  2. Program Start Time: Press PROGRAM, set desired brew time with HOUR/MIN.
  3. Confirm: "PROG" appears on display when set.
  4. To cancel: Press PROGRAM until "PROG" disappears.
  5. Ensure water and coffee beans are loaded before programmed time.

Note: Power interruption requires resetting clock and program.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners or immerse unit.
