Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and charcoal water filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Fill the water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle with only water (no coffee) to clean the internal system. Discard the water.
  5. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the unit is unplugged during cleaning of removable parts.

First-Time Use

Set the clock and prepare for first brew.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the correct time. Press CLOCK again to confirm.
  2. Add Coffee Beans: Fill the bean hopper with your preferred whole coffee beans. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  3. Set Grind Coarseness: Turn the Grind Control Dial to your desired setting (e.g., medium for most coffee).
  4. Select Brew Strength: Press the BREW STRENGTH button to choose Regular or Bold.
  5. Select Cup Amount: Press the CUP SELECT button for 1-4 cups or 5-12 cups.
  6. Start Brewing: Press the BREW button to begin the grinding and brewing cycle.

CAUTION! The carafe, warming plate, and brewed coffee will be hot. Handle with care.

Programming & Operation

To program the coffeemaker to brew automatically at a set time:

  1. Ensure the clock is set correctly.
  2. Fill the water reservoir and add beans to the hopper.
  3. Press and hold the PROGRAM button. The "AUTO ON" light will blink.
  4. While holding PROGRAM, use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired brew time.
  5. Release the PROGRAM button. The "AUTO ON" light will stay lit.
  6. The coffeemaker will now grind and brew automatically at the set time. To cancel, press PROGRAM again until the "AUTO ON" light turns off.

Tip: For best results, use the included charcoal water filter and fresh, cold water.

Grinder Operation

The built-in grinder operates automatically when the BREW or PROGRAM cycle starts.

  1. Ensure the bean hopper is filled with whole beans and the Grind Control Dial is set.
  2. For pre-ground coffee: Slide the GRIND OFF button to the ON position. Add ground coffee directly to the filter.
  3. Grind Amount: The grinder is timed to deliver the correct amount of grounds for the selected number of cups. Do not attempt to adjust grind time manually.
  4. Grind Settings: Turn the dial clockwise for a finer grind (stronger flavor) or counter-clockwise for a coarser grind (milder flavor).

WARNING! Never operate the grinder without beans in the hopper. Never insert utensils, fingers, or ground coffee into the grinder.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the unit and allow to cool completely before cleaning.

Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

Monthly/As Needed:

  1. Descale: Run a brewing cycle with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water. Follow with 2-3 cycles of clean water to rinse.
  2. Clean Grinder: Unplug unit. Use a small brush to clean loose grounds from the burr grinder chamber. Do not use water or liquids on the grinder.
  3. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Never immerse the base, cord, or plug in water. Replace the charcoal water filter every 60 days or after 60 uses for optimal performance.
