Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside unit.
  2. Wash carafe, gold-tone filter, and charcoal water filter with warm soapy water.
  3. Insert charcoal filter into holder in water reservoir; soak filter for 10 minutes.
  4. Fill water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean.
  5. Place gold-tone filter into filter basket.

WARNING! Ensure unit is unplugged during installation. Keep away from heat sources and water.

First-Time Setup

Plug in coffeemaker; follow control panel prompts.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button; use HOUR and MIN to set time.
  2. Program auto brew: Press PROG button, set desired brew time using HOUR/MIN.
  3. Adjust grind setting: Turn grind selector knob (coarse to fine).
  4. Set bean amount: Adjust bean selector for number of cups (2-12).

Brewing Coffee

For fresh ground coffee or pre-ground coffee.

  3. For pre-ground: Place ground coffee in filter basket; press GRIND OFF.
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press POWER to start brewing immediately, or wait for programmed time.
  6. During brewing, you may use brew pause feature to pour a cup.
  7. When brewing completes, auto shutoff activates after selected delay.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of beans per cup for optimal strength. Clean grinder regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe and filter basket with warm soapy water.
  2. Weekly: Clean grinder by running ¼ cup of uncooked rice through grind cycle.
  3. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (run through brewing cycle).
  4. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  5. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not immerse in water.

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners. Do not clean grinder with water.
