Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and charcoal filter holder with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder and soak in water for 15 minutes.
  4. Place filter holder into the water reservoir.
  5. Fill water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean the system.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Ensure unit is unplugged during cleaning.

First-Time Setup

Plug in the coffeemaker; the LCD will illuminate.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Program brew time: Press PROGRAM, then set desired brew time using HOUR and MINUTE.
  3. Set auto shut-off: Press AUTO OFF to select duration (0-4 hours).
  4. Adjust grind: Turn GRIND CONTROL dial to desired setting (1-18).
  5. Select strength: Press STRENGTH for regular or bold.

CAUTION! Ensure the carafe is properly positioned before brewing to avoid spills.

Brewing Coffee

  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  4. Select settings: Strength, 1-4 cup if applicable, grind setting.
  5. Press POWER to start brewing immediately, or ensure PROGRAM is set for delayed brew.
  6. When brewing completes, audible signal sounds. Coffee stays warm on plate per auto-off setting.

Tip: Use the 1-4 cup setting when brewing less than 5 cups for optimal flavor.

Grinder Operation

The burr grinder provides consistent grind size.

  1. Adjust Grind Control dial: Lower numbers for finer grind (espresso), higher for coarser (French press).
  2. For regular drip coffee, start at setting 8-10.
  3. Grind amount is automatically measured based on water amount.
  4. To use pre-ground coffee, press GRIND OFF before brewing and add grounds to filter basket.

WARNING! Never insert utensils or fingers into bean hopper or grinder. Unplug before cleaning.
