Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Place on a clean, dry, level, and stable surface near an electrical outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from the unit and carafe.
  2. Wash the carafe lid, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 5 minutes).
  4. Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with fresh, cold water and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean the system.

WARNING! Ensure the unit is unplugged during initial cleaning. Handle the glass carafe with care to avoid breakage.

First-Time Use

After the initial cleaning cycle, the coffeemaker is ready for programming and brewing.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons until the correct time is displayed.
  2. Add whole beans to the grinder hopper or pre-ground coffee to the filter basket (select GRIND OFF).
  3. Select desired grind setting (1-4, fine to coarse) and brew strength (REGULAR or BOLD).
  4. Press the BREW button to start the manual brewing cycle.
  5. To program auto-brew: Set the clock, then use the PROGRAM button to set the desired brew time.

CAUTION! Do not add water to the grinder hopper. Only use the water reservoir for liquids.

Programming & Operation

For automatic brewing at a set time each day.

  1. Ensure the clock is set to the correct time.
  2. Fill the water reservoir and add whole beans to the hopper.
  3. Press and hold PROGRAM. While holding, press HOUR and MIN to set the desired brew time.
  4. Release PROGRAM. The programmed time will flash, then the display returns to the current time. The auto-brew light will illuminate.
  5. The coffeemaker will grind and brew automatically at the set time. To cancel, press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.

Tip: For best results, use fresh, cold water and whole coffee beans. Adjust grind and strength to taste.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Empty and rinse the carafe and filter basket. Wipe the warming plate with a damp cloth.
  2. Weekly: Clean the grinder by running a small amount of uncooked rice through it (1/4 cup). Wipe the bean hopper with a dry cloth.
  3. Monthly: Descale the unit using a vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) or commercial descaling agent. Run a brewing cycle, then run 2-3 cycles with clean water to rinse.
  4. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses for optimal water filtration.

WARNING! Always unplug the unit before cleaning. Never immerse the base, cord, or plug in water.

Safety Features

Auto Shut-Off: Turns off the heating element and grinder 2 hours after brewing is complete. Overheat Protection: Built-in thermal fuse prevents overheating. Carafe Safety: Brewing will not start unless the carafe is properly placed on the warming plate.
