Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe lid, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm soapy water; rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into holder in water reservoir and soak for 15 minutes.
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a brewing cycle with water only to clean interior.

  1. Fill water reservoir to maximum line with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER to turn on; press BREW to start cycle.
  4. Discard water after cycle completes.
  5. Repeat if desired.

CAUTION! Do not add coffee beans or grounds during cleaning cycle. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

For whole bean or pre-ground coffee.

  2. For whole beans: Fill bean hopper; adjust grind setting. For pre-ground: Place grounds in filter basket; press GRIND OFF.
  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  4. Press POWER to turn on.
  5. Select BREW STRENGTH if desired.
  6. Press BREW to start cycle.
  7. When brewing completes, auto shut-off activates.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per 5 oz cup, or adjust to taste.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm soapy water.
  2. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (run brew cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar, then run 2 cycles with clean water).
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  4. Grinder Cleaning: Unplug, wipe bean hopper with dry cloth; do not immerse.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Programming

Set auto brew to start at a specific time.

  1. Press and hold CLOCK SET; use HOUR/MIN to set current time.
  2. Press PROGRAM; use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew start time.
  3. Press AUTO ON; indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Ensure water reservoir is filled and beans/grounds are loaded.
  5. Coffeemaker will automatically start at programmed time.
