Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the unit and carafe.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir (soak filter for 15 minutes first).
  4. Fill the water reservoir with cold water to the desired cup level.
  5. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the unit is on a stable surface away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on the unit; the LCD will illuminate. Set the clock before programming.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use HOUR and MIN buttons to set the correct time.
  2. Program the auto brew: Press the PROGRAM button, then set the desired brew time using HOUR and MIN.
  3. Select brew strength: Press the STRENGTH button to toggle between Regular and Bold.
  4. Select grind setting: Turn the grind selector knob to desired coarseness (1-18).
  5. Run a water-only cycle: Without coffee, start a brew cycle to clean the system before first use.

Using the Grinder

The burr grinder ensures consistent grind size for optimal extraction.

  1. Ensure the bean hopper lid is securely closed.
  2. Turn the grind selector knob to desired setting (1-18).
  3. For pre-ground coffee, press the GRIND OFF button (light will illuminate).
  4. Add whole beans to the hopper (max capacity: ½ lb).
  5. The grinder will automatically operate during the brew cycle.

Tip: For finer grind (espresso-style), use lower numbers. For coarser grind (French press), use higher numbers. Clean the grinder chamber regularly to prevent oil buildup.

Brewing Coffee

Supports both whole bean and pre-ground coffee.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with cold, filtered water to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole beans to hopper or place pre-ground coffee in the filter basket (press GRIND OFF first).

  4. Select brew strength with STRENGTH button (optional).
  5. Press the POWER button to start brewing immediately.
  6. For programmed brew: Set program time, and the unit will start automatically.
  7. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup before cycle finishes (pause for up to 30 seconds).
  8. When brewing is complete, the unit will beep and auto-shut off after 2 hours.

WARNING! Do not remove the carafe during grinding or brewing unless using BREW PAUSE. The carafe lid must be securely closed during brewing.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Clean carafe, lid, and filter basket after each use.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Monthly: Descale the unit with a vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) to remove mineral deposits.
  3. Grinder Cleaning: Unplug, remove bean hopper, and brush out any residual grounds with the provided cleaning brush.
  4. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 cycles or every 2 months for optimal performance.
  5. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth; do not use harsh chemicals.

CAUTION! Never immerse the base, cord, or plug in water. Do not use the unit without the charcoal filter or permanent filter in place.
