Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, dry, level, and stable surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from inside the grinder hopper and carafe.
  2. Wash the thermal carafe, lid, and permanent filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Fill the water reservoir with cold water to the 12-cup mark and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean the system.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning and initial setup. Do not immerse the base, cord, or plug in water.

First-Time Setup

After installation, program the clock and your preferred settings.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MINUTE buttons until the correct time is displayed.
  2. Set Auto Shutoff: Press the AUTO OFF button to select 0, 2, or 4 hours.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Empty and rinse the carafe and filter basket. Wipe the warming base with a damp cloth.
  2. Weekly: Clean the grinder by running ¼ cup of uncooked rice through it to remove oils. Discard rice.
  3. Monthly: Descale the coffeemaker using a descaling solution or white vinegar mixture (run a cycle with solution, then run 2 cycles with clean water).
