Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, dry, level, and stable surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from the unit, carafe, and filter basket.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and permanent filter (if included) with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder in the water reservoir. Soak filter completely for 15 minutes, then rinse.
  4. Fill the water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle with only water (no coffee) to clean the internal system. Discard water.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid. Ensure the power cord is not dangling over the edge of a counter.

First-Time Use

After the initial cleaning cycle, your coffeemaker is ready for programming and brewing.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the current time.
  2. Fill the Bean Hopper: Add whole bean coffee to the hopper. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  3. Adjust Grind Size: Turn the Grind Control Dial to your preferred setting (medium grind is recommended to start).
  4. Select Cup Amount: Press the CUP SELECTOR button to choose the number of cups (1-4, 5-8, 10-12).
  5. Brew Immediately: Press the BREW button to start a manual brew cycle.

CAUTION! The burr grinder is sharp. Never insert fingers, utensils, or objects into the bean hopper or grinder chamber.

Programming the Clock & Timer

To set the coffeemaker to brew automatically at a specific time each day.

  1. Ensure the clock is set to the correct current time.
  2. Press and release the PROGRAM button. The PROGRAM light will illuminate.
  3. While the PROGRAM light is on, use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired auto-brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. The PROGRAM light will remain lit, indicating the timer is active.
  5. Fill the bean hopper and water reservoir the night before. The unit will grind and brew at the set time.
  6. To cancel auto-brew, press and hold the PROGRAM button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.

Tip: The auto-brew function will not operate if the bean hopper is empty, the water reservoir is empty, or the carafe is not in place.

Grinding & Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh, cold water and whole bean coffee.

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the desired level. Match the water level to the cup selection (e.g., fill to the "8" line if making 8 cups).
  2. Add whole beans to the hopper. Adjust the Grind Control Dial.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate (base).
  4. Select Cup Amount: Press CUP SELECTOR until the display matches the number of cups you are brewing.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the BREW button. The grinder will start first, followed by the brewing cycle.
  6. To use pre-ground coffee: Press the GRIND OFF button before starting. Add ground coffee to the filter basket.
  7. Brew Pause 'n Serve: You can carefully remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. Replace within 30 seconds to continue the cycle.

WARNING! The carafe lid releases hot steam. Open carefully away from your face. The thermal carafe and brewed coffee will be very hot.

Care & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee flavor.

Daily: Discard grounds and rinse the filter basket and carafe. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.

Weekly/As Needed:

  1. Descale: Run a brewing cycle with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water. Follow with 2-3 cycles of clean water to rinse.
  2. Clean the Burr Grinder: Unplug the unit. Remove bean hopper and clean with a dry brush. Wipe the grinding chamber with a dry cloth.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace the water filter every 60 brew cycles or every 2 months.

CAUTION! Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
