Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and hopper.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and water reservoir with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Place the coffeemaker on a stable countertop away from edges and heat sources.
  5. Plug into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a brewing cycle with water only to clean the system.

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX line with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER to turn on. Press BREW to start cycle.
  4. Discard water after cycle completes.
  5. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK, then use HOUR and MIN buttons.
  6. Program brew time: Press PROGRAM, set desired time, then press PROGRAM again.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly seated.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh, cold water and whole bean coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole beans to hopper (max 1/2 lb). Adjust grind control dial.
  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  4. Press POWER. Select brew strength with GRIND OFF/BOLD.
  5. Press BREW to start immediate brewing, or set program for delayed brew.
  6. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE during brew to pour a cup.
  7. When brewing completes, auto shut-off activates after 2 hours.

Tip: For pre-ground coffee, set GRIND OFF/BOLD to OFF and use filter basket.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and cool before cleaning. Clean after each use.

  1. Carafe and filter basket: Wash with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Do not immerse.
  3. Grinder: Clean periodically by running 1/4 cup uncooked rice through grinder to remove oils.
  4. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 brews or 2 months.
  5. Descale: Monthly, run a cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar, then rinse with two cycles of fresh water.

CAUTION! Never use harsh chemicals or place any parts in dishwasher unless specified.
