Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from coffeemaker and carafe.
  2. Wash carafe lid and filter basket with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a brewing cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir to 12-cup mark with clean water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER to turn on; press BREW to start cycle.
  4. After cycle completes, discard water. Coffeemaker is ready for use.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing to prevent spills.

Brewing Coffee

For fresh ground coffee or pre-ground.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole beans to grinder hopper or pre-ground to filter basket.
  3. Select grind setting and brew strength.
  4. Place carafe on warming plate.
  5. Press POWER, then BREW to start.
  6. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing.

Tip: Use 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup for regular strength.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Empty carafe and rinse; wipe exterior with damp cloth.
  2. Weekly: Clean filter basket and permanent filter; descale if needed.
  3. Monthly: Replace charcoal water filter; clean grinder with brush.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Programming

Set auto-brew to start at a specific time.

  1. Press and hold CLOCK to set current time.
  2. Press PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MIN to set brew time.
  3. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  4. Add water and coffee; ensure POWER is on.

Note: Auto-brew will start at set time if coffeemaker is powered on.

Care & Storage

Unplug and cool before storing. Store in dry place; avoid stacking items on top.
