Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on a clean, dry, level surface near an electrical outlet.

  1. Install charcoal water filter: Rinse filter, insert into filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Insert gold-tone filter basket: Place into brew basket area.
  3. Attach carafe lid: Align lid with carafe opening and twist to lock.
  4. Plug into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse cord, plug, or unit in water. Keep away from heat sources and edges of countertops.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle with water only (no coffee).

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX line with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press POWER to turn on; press BREW to start cycle.
  4. Discard water after cycle completes.
  5. Set clock: Hold CLOCK button and use HOUR/MIN to set time.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing to prevent spills.

Programming & Operation

To program auto brew for a specific time:

  1. Ensure unit is on and clock is set correctly.
  2. Press and hold PROGRAM button until "AUTO ON" appears.
  3. Use HOUR and MIN buttons to set desired brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  5. Add water and coffee beans the night before; unit will grind and brew automatically at set time.

Tip: For manual brew, add water and beans, select settings, and press BREW.

Grind & Brew Process

Uses whole beans to grind fresh for each pot.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Add whole beans to bean hopper (max 1/2 lb).
  3. Select grind size (Coarse for French Press style, Fine for Espresso style, Medium for regular drip).
  4. Select brew strength (Regular or Bold).
  5. Press BREW to start. Grinder will operate first, then brewing begins.
  6. When brewing is complete, auto shut-off turns unit off.

WARNING! Never remove bean hopper or filter basket during operation. Keep hands away from grinder area.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Weekly: Run a cleaning cycle with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) to decalcify.
  3. Monthly: Wipe exterior with damp cloth; clean bean hopper with dry brush.
  4. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse unit in water.
