Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and water reservoir.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Fill water reservoir with cold water to maximum line and run a brewing cycle without coffee to clean interior.

WARNING! Ensure coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning. Handle carafe with care to avoid breakage.

First-Time Setup

Plug in coffeemaker; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button, use HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set time.
  2. Program timer (optional): Press PROGRAM, set brew time using HOUR and MINUTE.
  3. Adjust grind setting: Turn grind selector to desired coarseness (medium recommended).
  4. Set cup selector: Slide to number of cups you plan to brew (adjusts coffee strength).

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly seated on warming base.

Brewing Coffee

  4. Select cup number on cup selector.
  5. Select grind setting (if using whole beans).
  6. Press POWER to start brewing.
  7. Use brew pause feature if you want to pour a cup early.
  8. Auto shut-off turns off unit after brewing completes.

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during brewing unless using brew pause. Keep hands away from hot surfaces.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Clean carafe, lid, and filter basket after each use.

  1. Weekly: Descale with vinegar solution (run brewing cycle with equal parts vinegar and water, then run 2 cycles with clean water).
  2. Monthly: Clean grinder by running a small amount of uncooked rice through it to remove oil buildup.
  3. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 brews or 2 months.
  4. Wipe exterior with damp cloth; do not immerse in water.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembling.
