Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Fill water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle with only water to clean interior.
  5. Plug into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Handle carafe with care to avoid dropping.

First-Time Setup

Plug in unit; LCD will flash 12:00.

  1. Set Clock: Press and hold HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set current time.
  2. Set Auto Shut-Off: Press PROGRAM button, then use HOUR to select 0, 2, or 4 hours.
  3. Prime Water Filter: Soak charcoal filter in water for 15 minutes, then rinse under tap before inserting.
  4. Perform Cleaning Cycle: With empty carafe in place, press and hold CLEAN button for 3 seconds to start self-clean cycle.

Brewing Coffee

For optimal coffee flavor, use fresh, cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level.
  2. Place charcoal water filter in holder (if using).
  3. Insert permanent filter into filter basket.
  4. Add coffee grounds: 1 tablespoon per cup, adjust to taste.
  5. Place empty carafe on warming plate, ensuring lid is closed.
  6. Press POWER to start brewing immediately.
  7. For brew pause, press BREW PAUSE during cycle to pour a cup, then press again to resume.
  8. When brewing complete, audible signal will sound and AUTO OFF countdown begins.

Tip: For 1-4 cups, press 1-4 CUP button before starting for optimized flavor extraction.

Programming

Set the unit to brew automatically at a specific time.

  1. Ensure clock is set to correct time.
  2. Press PROGRAM button; PROGRAM icon will flash.
  3. Press HOUR and MINUTE to set desired brew time.
  4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. PROGRAM icon will stay lit.
  5. Prepare coffee maker with water and grounds as usual. Close lid.
  6. Unit will automatically brew at set time. To cancel, press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.

Note: If power is interrupted, you must reset the clock and program time.
