Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafes and filter baskets.
  2. Insert charcoal water filter into reservoir: Soak filter in water for 15 minutes, then place in holder and slide into reservoir.
  3. Place empty carafes on warming plates.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not place near heat sources or in direct sunlight. Ensure power cord is not dangling.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, clean the unit by running a brewing cycle with water only (no coffee).

  1. Fill water reservoir to maximum line with clean, cold water.
  2. Place empty carafes on warming plates.
  3. Press POWER to turn unit on.
  4. Press BREW to start cleaning cycle. Discard water after cycle completes.
  5. Repeat cleaning cycle once more.

CAUTION! Do not add coffee grounds during cleaning cycles. Allow unit to cool before handling.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: POWER, PROGRAM, HOUR, MINUTE, BREW STRENGTH, BREW, CLOCK.

Setting the Clock: Press and hold CLOCK, then press HOUR/MINUTE to set time. Press CLOCK again to confirm.

Programming Brew Start: Press PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MINUTE to set desired start time. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. "PROG" icon will display.

Brew Strength: Press BREW STRENGTH to toggle between REGULAR and BOLD. Selected strength applies to both carafes.

Auto Shut-Off: Warming plates turn off automatically 4 hours after brewing ends.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh, cold water and freshly ground coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired level (marked in cups).
  2. Place gold-tone filter in each filter basket.
  3. Add coffee grounds: Use 1 tablespoon per cup (adjust to taste).
  4. Place empty carafes on warming plates.
  5. Press POWER to turn unit on.
  6. Press BREW to start immediate brewing, OR set programmed start time.
  7. During brewing, you may press BREW PAUSE to pour a cup, then press again to resume.
  8. When brewing completes, carafes will remain on warming plates for up to 4 hours.

Tip: For optimal flavor, clean carafes and filter baskets after each use.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures best performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafes and filter baskets in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Weekly: Descale unit by running a cycle with equal parts water and white vinegar, then run two cycles with clean water.
  3. Monthly: Replace charcoal water filter (every 60 cycles). Soak new filter 15 minutes before installing.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
