Safety Features

The Cuisinart E1520A incorporates multiple safety mechanisms.

CAUTION! Never open the lid while water is boiling or hot. Steam can cause burns.

Care & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents scale buildup and ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Empty any unused water. Rinse the kettle with clean water.
  2. Descaling: Mineral deposits (scale) are normal. To descale, fill kettle with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water to the MAX line. Boil, then let sit for 1 hour. Discard solution. Rinse thoroughly several times with clean water. Boil a full kettle of clean water and discard to remove any residual taste.
  3. Filter: Remove the scale filter from the spout regularly. Rinse under running water or soak in a vinegar solution to remove deposits.
  4. Exterior: Wipe the outside of the kettle and power base with a damp, soft cloth. Dry immediately.

WARNING! Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or immerse the kettle, base, or cord in water. Unplug and allow to cool completely before cleaning.
