Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on clean, stable, heat-resistant surface.

  1. Remove packaging materials from all components.
  2. Fill water tank: Remove tank, fill with fresh cold water, reinsert securely.
  3. Prime the machine: Turn on, run water through group head without coffee to flush system.
  4. Insert portafilter: Align and lock into group head.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure machine is unplugged during setup. Keep away from water sources to prevent electric shock.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, perform initial cleaning cycle.

  1. Power on: Press power button; wait for ready light.
  2. Run water: Place cup under group head, press brew button to flush water for 30 seconds.
  3. Clean steam wand: Turn steam knob to release steam/water into empty container.
  4. Program shot volumes: Hold single/double button until desired volume is reached, then release to save.
  5. Insert basket: Choose single or double basket, place in portafilter.

CAUTION! Surfaces become hot during use. Do not touch group head or steam wand without protection.

Brewing Espresso

For best results, use freshly ground espresso beans.

  1. Grind coffee: Use fine espresso grind, fill basket (single: 7-9g, double: 14-18g).
  2. Tamp: Use tamper to compress grounds evenly with firm pressure.
  3. Lock portafilter: Insert into group head, turn right until snug.
  4. Place cup: Set under portafilter spout.
  5. Brew: Press single or double button; extraction should take 25-30 seconds.
  6. Stop: Press button again to stop early, or let programmed volume finish.

Tip: Preheat cups and portafilter for better temperature stability.

Frothing Milk

Use cold milk (whole milk froths best) in a stainless steel pitcher.

  1. Purge steam wand: Turn steam knob briefly to release condensation.
  2. Submerge tip: Place wand just below milk surface, turn knob to full steam.
  3. Create foam: Lower pitcher to introduce air until milk expands slightly.
  4. Heat milk: Submerge wand deeper, swirl until pitcher is warm to touch.
  5. Turn off steam: Close knob, wipe wand with damp cloth, purge again.
  6. Pour: Tap pitcher, swirl, pour over espresso for latte art.

WARNING! Steam wand is extremely hot. Always use handle and keep hands clear.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Wipe housing with damp cloth. Clean steam wand after each use. Weekly: Backflush with cleaning tablet (if applicable). Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution or descaling product.

  1. Descale: Fill tank with equal parts water and white vinegar, run through steam wand and group head until half empty, let sit 30 minutes, flush with fresh water.
  2. Clean portafilter: Remove basket, wash with warm soapy water.
  3. Replace water filter: If equipped, change every 2-3 months.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse machine in water.
